CHANGE: I AM The Chance – Look-Think-Act:I Am Change aims to inspire youth to be active leaders in bringing social change to their schools, communities, society, and themselves. TO LOOK, THINK, ACT. Margaret Wheatley said, "we can no longer wait for leaders or laws to create the changes we need. It's up to us, and it's the only way the world ever changes--when a few friends start talking. Am I willing to assume the responsibility for creating the changes I want to see in the world?" Aligning ourselves with the words of Mohandas K. Gandhi, “we must be the change we wish to see in the world”, the I AM the Change Movement is meant to inspire people everywhere to I AM the Change they wish to see in their own way. Our simple three-step formula for change has helped to transform the lives of people all over the world. The challenge is to Look – at what’s happening around you, and in your own life, then THINK of positive actions that help you change things, and finally to Act as a living example and take action necessary to bring the change you want to see. What if we created a caring and safe world, where everyone respected diversity of our culture, where we all took 100 percent responsibility for our choices, where community was involved, and where we strived for a world where everyone wins? What if we created a world where no person was bullied, harassed, put down, or made to feel less than? Jerome relates these dynamics to his own life as he went through being paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair and how he embraced change and with a positive attitude. This workshop invites you to deconstruct how we learn, work, teach and live in today’s world while being the Change. To be fully awake and to LOOK, THINK, and ACT. "Is this decision going to bring people together? Will it weave a stronger web, or, will it create further disintegration and separation?' I like to ask, "In what I am about to do, am I turning toward others, or turning away?" "Am I moving closer, or am I retreating from them?" This presentation invites participants to:
